Designory scores Platinum Graphis for Nissan JUKE Color Studio Video

Designory received a Graphis Design Platinum award for its Nissan JUKE Color Studio video in the promotion category.  As a part of this honor, one full page in the 2016 Graphis Design Annual is dedicated to the video, showcasing screen grab highlights and a full description.

“We are thrilled by this honor and I have to admit pretty pumped to see our name on the cover of the Graphis Design Annual.” Lynne Grigg, Chief Creative Officer, Designory.

Designory’s assignment from Nissan was to produce a short video to promote Nissan’s first ever Color Studio.  Nissan chose the JUKE, it’s quirky sport utility, as the perfect candidate to launch the line.  At the same time, Color Studio also was designed to give the odd, little JUKE a more premium appeal.

“We saw this as an opportunity to take accessories out of the realm of floor mats and make them something truly cool and desirable,” said Meg Crabtree, Senior Creative Director, Designory.  “Our aesthetic inspiration came from music videos and fashion photography. Our concept played on the idea that color changes everything.  It’s a catalyst that makes things happen.”  The video features some unexpected “agents of change” that have a colorful impact on the JUKE. The video is a mix of live action and CGI, with visual effects that simulate the transfusion of color to the different vehicle parts, and a music track that lends a sultry swagger.

Graphis presents and promotes the work of exceptional talent through its hardcover annuals and online archive covering Advertising, Photography, Design, Typography, Posters and New Talent. Awarded work is showcased in both.
